prom 2010
It was awesome to be able to take pictures of my good looking cousin and his beautiful girlfriend before they left for his senior prom.

Prom 1993 felt like ages ago after taking pictures of this bunch. Hanging with this group drove home the fact that I am definitely in my mid 30’s!!

lip gloss
Here’s my precious niece gettin’ her lips all fancied up. Her aunt Peggy sure was sweet to continue to apply and reapply that lip gloss over and over. Finally she wanted to hold it and paint it on herself.
She’s just the sweetest!

best snow day EVER
We knew the snow was coming but we had NO idea it would be that good!
When it first started coming down the kids bundled up, which took at least 15 minutes, and we went out and played a bit. It was just a thin layer and I really did not expect it to really stick and accumulate. About an hour later, WHOA it was so thick and beautiful. We joined up with some of our best friends that live behind us and played for hours. The snow was perfect! We built several snow men, had snow ball fights and went sledding down the driveway at my grandmothers (she lives right beside us).
The next day only 3 of us ventured out again. My man and #3 stayed in to keep warm and watch movies. The other two kids and I played in the snow again until my feet just could take it anymore. They were soaked through and it was painful to walk.
I didn’t take a ton of pics b/c it was snowing so hard the first day and the little camera kept getting wet. I did get some video and I will piece it together and post it later.

our Columbus day
My man’s parents have been in town for a few days.
We played Catan – LOVE this game!
Me and my man had a date night (thanks to the free babysitting)
Played the Wii. I will never forget my mother-in-law hula hooping on the Wii fit. She’s was GREAT!
Ate some fresh eggs (thanks to Ruby and Big Girl)
Introduced my in-laws to IKEA.
Ate a CPK
and … went to the GA Aquarium! WHOO HOOOOOO!
It was so nice. My favorite thing was “two finger” touching the rays and starfish.
Here are some terrible snapshots.

MeMe and Granddad – the kids already want to know when you can come visit again!
hot hot days
That one dollar kiddie pool has been a life saver this week. I can’t get the kids out of it.
Three little monkeys

The move seems so “real” this week. I’ve been so moody about it. Today when they delivered the “pod” I thought I might have an anxiety attack. I so love to think I love change but when it is time to dive in and make the change I always panic.

My tomatoes plants are beasts. I have never EVER experienced tomato growth like this. (thanks again Rena)

There are tons of these fat greenies just teasing me. I so want them to be red already!

I experience a first this week – picking a chicken’s nose. I had too. It was so pretty gross. Ruby chicken has like a cold. She sounds like a congested toddler who needs to cough.

one buck
What can keep your kids happy, content and cool for hours and only cost ONE dollar? That would be a cheap quick set up pool I found at K-Mart back in December on a clearance shelf. Every summer since #1 was two – we’ve set up a cheap kiddie pool. I love them. The kids beg in March to get them out. Finally this weekend I filled it up to help me accomplish a bunch of things around the house.
It was all work and no play though for the grownups. Eric’s dad came Friday and my parents came on Saturday to help us complete a bunch of work on the house. Two weeks is all we have left and then we’re out.

All the kids built Lego boats to battle in the pool.

I just love these two men!

sliiiiiiiiip, slip-n-slide
My little niece is such a cutie. All the other kids wimped out real quick but this little girl loved it!

sometimes you just need your mama
I like thinking I am independent and I can get things done on my own but lately I have just had my plate extra full. Well my mom was scheduled to make a trip out of town with my dad, but plans changed and she had to stay behind. Lucky me because that gave her some free time to head down our way. I thought she would come and rest, but right when she walked in the door I needed her help – someone was coming to see the house and things were just crazy. Needless to say my mom rescued me. She didn’t rest a bit the whole time she was here. She took care of me. Honestly I didn’t know just how bad I needed it until I saw the laundry basket empty and my dishes put away and this peace just came over me, we needed my mom and God arranged it and put her in our house exactly when He knew we just couldn’t do it without her. My mom is the hardest worker I have ever met. The woman can run circles around me. I have never know anyone like her. She is strong, giving, kind and when she serves she does it in a way you’ll never forget it. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful mother. I know her love is endless for me and I am so thankful that she is mine.

The kids made a barrier on the driveway to keep her from leaving!

It’s hard to say goodbye!

it's that season again
That’s right. Soccer season has begun. This year all the kids are playing.
Right when I woke this morning I felt butterflies in my tummy. I knew instantly I was nervous and excited about the kid’s games. #1’s game began at 9 a.m. It didn’t go so well. They lost. Right after that the girls had their first game EVER. The kids ran around in a huddle like all little ones do. It was precious. #3 was placed in front of the goal as a defender. I looked out there to she her practicing her lunges just like she learned on our Wii Fit while everyone was kicking the ball and playing on the field. I tell you, that girl is something else. I was proud of her though. She’s playing on an older team – with her sister and she can keep up with all those other players. #2 had a great time. Right after the first kick off she ran around the field with the cutest little smirk on her face. I love watching all of them play. It was so much fun.
I didn’t get many good pics today. I will just post this one.

wacky weather weekend
Friday – Great temperatures. The 5 of us headed to Callaway to spend the afternoon together. We’d only been there an hour and it began to pour. We made the best of it and still managed to have a wonderful day.
Saturday – RAIN – tons of it. Sirens in the city warned of possible tornadoes. All soccer practices were canceled. We had a lazy day at home. By the late afternoon the sun was out and the temperature was in the low 70’s. We headed to the Payne’s and had a delicious dinner. Happy Birthday JP.
Sunday – We wake up to cold rain. As we get ready for church it begins to snow like crazy. We stay home so the kids can experience it. Then we spent to afternoon with my man’s family. By dinner time, most of the snow was gone. It was still freezing cold so we all snuggled together and watched Open Season 2.
I have loved every minute of our weekend.
